The coins in the collection come predominantly from the states of the Habsburg confederation, from Middle Ages up to the present. From the second half of the 19th century there are also payment instruments from other countries, mainly from Europe. Plaques and medals are of Moravian, Austro-Hungarian and Czechoslovak provenance, and badges and emblems mainly from Moravia and the Kroměříž area. The core of the collection consists of gifts from individuals (Karel Kubes) and institutions (the teaching institute, municipal council) in the mid-1930s and 1940s, associated with the constitution of the museum in Kroměříž. The collection grew significantly after the war, and from the 1970s also by acquisitions from the Kroměříž branch of the Czech Numismatic Society. The collection contains coins, paper notes, plaques, medals, badges and emblems.
