Philately collection

The collection contains mainly stamps, stamp blocks and commemorative envelopes issued by the Czechoslovak post from the end of World War II to the mid-1950s. The collection comes from the territory of the Czechoslovak Republic after World War II, was constituted by acquisitions from the post office in Kroměříž, and documents the enthusiastic post-war period, the coup d’ état in February 1948, as well as the later cultural and social happenings until 1954. In recent years, several postcards have been added to the collection along with commemorative items such as post stamps documenting anniversaries associated with Kroměříž. A specific part of the collection is a portfolio of Helena Lvová, native of Kroměříž, who maintained correspondence with prisoners in concentration camps during World War II, and postal documentation pertaining to this correspondence (dispatching and delivery notes for food parcels sent to the concentration camps, postcards sent from the concentration camps, letters, photographs,  etc.).
