The rarest entomological collection of beetles and ants comes from a leading amateur regional entomologist Otakar Fiala (1876–1949), in which most of the collected insects come from the region of Central Moravia (Kroměříž and its surroundings, the Chřiby uplands, Hostýnské vrchy mountains). The entomological collections comprises beetles (Coleoptera), butterflies (Lepidoptera), and flies (Diptera) and is gradually expanded through acquisitions and gifts from regional amateur collectors J. Pola (Lepidoptera), J. Drulák (Lepidoptera), M. Pekař (Coleoptera) and J. Stavinoha (Lepidoptera).
