Maps and plans

The sub-collection of maps and plans contains general geographical and topographical maps of the continents and individual countries, but also various thematic and special maps, history maps, plans of Czech and Moravian towns and European cities, general geographical atlases, school and retrospective atlases, Kroměříž town plans, or building plans and drawings of some significant buildings from Kroměříž. The maps, the oldest of which are form the 17th century, are rendered mainly in the technique of etching, copperplate, lithography, or common print. Among the authors are Johann Christoph Müller, Franz Fried or Matthäus Merian, published e.g. by. Johann Baptista Homann, Homann’s heirs, Tranquilllo Mollo, Artaria Wien, Freytag u. Berndt Wien, Neubert and Son Prague, Unie Prague, and Kartografie Praha, s.p.
