Come to experience the magical atmosphere of the Advent and Christmas at an exhibition dedicated to the indigo resist dyeing. Antonie Dostálková, for many years a teacher at the public art school in Uherské Hradiště, is a master of this traditional technique, and presents her charming “blueprint” works depicting Annunciation and Nativity that perfectly capture the spirit of Christmas.
In her unique blueprint patterns and creations, the author combines the traditional resist dye printing technique with modern artistic interpretation. She draws inspiration from nature, poetry, children’s books and memories of her own childhood. She is attracted to light, cycles of the day and night, summer and winter, birth and death – all highlighted by the striking contrast between blue and white. She received many awards for her work that is widely recognised by both experts and the public.
