Immerse into the world of beauty of manual bookbinding and let yourself get inspired by a story that combines precision, tradition, craft, and artistry. The Triennale of artistic bookbinding 2025 will mark the 50th year since the foundation of this prestigious show, which has been taking place in different locations around the Czech Republic.
From 1985 the Kroměříž District Museum has played a key role in the organisation of this event, mainly thanks to its dedicated secretary and later a member of the expert jury of the Triennale, PhDr. Anežka Fialová. Besides celebration of the art of bookbinding, the exhibition will thus be also a tribute to those who stood at the birth and evolution of this tradition.
You can look forward to works of the leading Czech and Moravian bookbinders, as well as to works of students and disciples of arts and crafts schools, training institutes, and university studios specialising in bookbinding. The installation will be accompanied by photographs and artefacts from 1989 – 2001 when the Kroměříž District Museum hosted the Triennial within its premises.
