Kroměříž District Museum – Revitalisation of buildings and exhibitions

A project under the IROP scheme, specific goal 3.1:  Improving the presentation, enhancing the protection and development of cultural heritage.

 

The result of the project was the development of a reception and visitor facilities, including the elimination of access barriers by installation of an elevator. The technical and health facilities of the entire objects have been modernised; the collection funds and all the assets and equipment have received protection. Collection items of the museum from all its spheres of interest were installed into the newly established exhibition spaces. New exhibitions were opened: the Time keepers, Kroměříž in the course of history 1848–1948 and the Treasures from an old attic. A space for temporary exhibitions was developed in the courtyard tract.

 

The construction works, the delivery of the interiors and construction of the new exhibitions took place from September 2017 to November 2020.

 

The overall cost of the project was nearly 46 million CZK. The IROP grant covered 85 % of the total eligible cost (30 million CZK), 5 % was provided from the state budget, and 10 % from a grant provided by the region.
