Švabinského kruh přátel výtvarného umění – the Švabinský Circle of Friends of the Fine Arts is a civic association that aims to study and popularise the work of Max Švabinský, his successors and predecessors, to seek satisfaction in understanding of the fine arts as a whole and its individual areas and directions.
From its constitution in 1923, the Circle has been organising regular series of lectures on fine art and heritage preservation, commemorative events on the occasions of important personalities of the region, meetings with artists, and preparing exhibitions and vernissages. The Circle issues art premiums for its members – graphics, publications, and more.
The Švabinský Circle of Friends of the Fine Arts maintains long-term collaboration with the Kroměříž Municipality, Kroměříž District Museum, UNESCO Club Kroměříž, Moravian Archive in Brno – State District Archive in Kroměříž, Kroměříž Library, elementary and secondary schools, but also with many other cultural and social institutions and associations.
Membership in the Švabinský Circle of Friends of the Fine Arts in Kroměříž is open to anyone interested in art and the work of Max Švabinský. The annual contribution is 100 CZK, members over 80 years of age do not pay.
